ACT Responsible is an international non-profit association created in 2001. ACT stands for Advertising Community Together. The association’s mission is to inspire, promote and federate the actors of the advertising communications industry around social responsibility and sustainable development and to share good practices. ACT Responsible constantly gathers unique and qualified advertising campaigns created all around the world in a bid to show the power of advertising when it adresses social or environmental issues. ACT Responsible showcases these campaigns as widely as possible through events, exhibitions, and various programs, in order to raise awareness around global and local issues.

In 2002, former Cannes’ Mayor, Bernard Brochand, created the ACT Responsible Cannes Tributes as a link between his citizens and the Festival. The ACT Responsible Cannes Tributes are a recognition given through public votes, to outstanding works for good causes. The Cannes ACT Tribute is a unique recognition given out during the ACT Responsible Exhibition in Cannes held once a year during the International Festival of Creativity. The Tribute recognize the best work that has been done in Charity, Public interests and institution as well as Responsible Corporate Communication (CSR). No criteria are set, voters are asked to determine their "favorite campaign" according to their own sensibility.

The ACT Responsible Cannes Tribute is a distinction given to outstanding works for good causes. It is the general public’s vote that decides which agency should receive a Tribute. The public was able to vote through an online plateforme (1 vote= 1 point) as well as on site, at the exhibition in Cannes (1 vote = 3 points). The idea behind this tribute is to reward all of the agencies who have given their talent and creativity towards promoting a good cause as well as increasing the visibility of the favorite campaigns as much as possible. Voting took place from June 15th to June 23rd and was divided into 4 categories: Planet, Human Rights, Education, Solidarity.
