How long has Caples been around? The Caples Awards was founded in 1978 by Andi Emerson in honor of famed BBDO direct marketing copywriter, John Caples. Emerson, an award-winning copywriter in her own right, wanted to celebrate and reward the power of creativity in direct marketing. Today, The Caples Awards is internationally recognized as one of the premiere direct and digital award shows in the industry.
