Implementation
We decided to play with the mechanics of the lighter itself, creating an engaging message that appeals to the target audience. When the lighter is closed the text reads ‘No Fire’ but when the lighter is opened, the message becomes ‘On Fire’. A clever and simple way of creating an interactive message in an improbable medium.
Outcome
The first edition went on sale in early April and the number of orders were already larger then the edition itself.
Brief Explanation
Design a Zippo so cool that it could arouse interest in a younger audience for whom the brand is not so present.
Client Brief Or Objective
ZIPPO Portugal have a new marketing team and they wanted to create relevance to a broader and younger audience, also in order to activate its new Portuguese online shop. To do it, they asked us to design a special edition Zippo lighter that will be only sold online.
