50 million people worldwide suffer from dementia. With traditional research lacking behind, scientists need a new way of quickly obtaining data from every culture, age and gender. Because Deutsche Telekom believes that memories should be shared not lost, we created Sea Hero Quest, the first mobile game where anyone can help scientists fight dementia. The addictive game gathers data about the players' orientation behavior and thus provides a database that creates world’s largest crowd-sourced benchmark for human navigation. Launched in 16 languages simultaneously, 2 million downloads were generated in 2 months and forever changed the way scientific research is done.
