Description:
Framestore’s Design Studio applied extensive work to National Geographic’s groundbreaking six-part global event series MARS, premiering in November 2016. The series’ 80-second title sequence, directed by Sharon Lock, provides a beautiful and suspense-laden introduction to the narrative, set to an original Nick Cave and Warren Ellis soundtrack. The abstract imagery is inspired by aerial and satellite scenery of the Red Planet, and creates constant shifts in perspective to cause an almost Rorschach test effect on the viewer.
