Synopsis:
Westpac has launched its latest creative which draws on the brand’s promise of helping in the moments that matter. Depicted through the life story of one likeable Aussie character, to the soundtrack of The Seekers'classic I’ll Never Find Another You remade by Julia Jacklin, this film tells the story of a man who spends his life helping those around him, and the unique way the town celebrates him after he’s gone.
Dealing with bereavement and the management of a Deceased Estate is a difficult time. We are here to help.
Brief Explanation
The film opens on a young man accidentally bumping into a young woman on the street. The next scene shows the man wrangling wayward horses in the Australian outback, only to arrive late and dishevelled to his own wedding. Throughout the narrative, the man sports a predominant moustache. His character is portrayed as intrinsically good, as we see his life progress with his now-wife. He plays football in the local team, and teaches music to children, all while his wife watches on proudly with their ever-growing daughter. As he ages, his strength of character never waivers. We see him helping neighbours and becoming a doting grandfather. Finally, we attend his funeral, where each guest holds up a fake moustache in a show of support to the widow. The film in essence visually showcases what would have been the man’s eulogy; an uplifting celebration of a life remarkably well lived.
