Description:
Adorable old loner with techy adshell coffee machine want’s to have a chat. Would you have taken the time?
Implementation
The adshel was both a live feed from an old and lonely mans living room and a coffee machine. The coffee machine was triggered by an app to match Per´s (79) pouring. The adshel was also equipped with a camera, speakers and microphones.
Entry Summary
In 2017, during the refugee crisis, Norwegian politicians were debating whether Norway was a "colder" society where people only cared for themselves. Frivillig.no – a site where volunteers could find things to do, and organizations could find suitable volunteers – wanted to show that despite everything, Norwegians are actually quite warm and welcoming, and do lots of volunteer work.
Brief Explanation
To show that volunteer work can be as easy as a cup of coffee and a chat, and to get more people to use Frivillig.no – a site where volunteers can find things to do, and organizations find suitable volunteers – we made an adshel into a coffee machine, and let an old and lonely man invite strangers to a cup of coffee.
We filmed the stunt and posted a video on Facebook, asking people if they would have taken time to have a cup of coffee with him.
