Strategy:
Being in a stark white hospital room can oftentimes make patients feel depressed. So by surrounding them with objects that make them more comfortable, they are able to focus more on healing. Social media was a natural integration because it holds cloud-stored image libraries used by all demographics.- When your mental state is good, your physical state improves more rapidly. - By bringing a piece of home into the hospital, we will bring patients home faster. - This application can be used to help a wide demographic of individuals from pediatric, to adult, to geriatric patients. - Social media was a natural integration because it is where most people view and share a collection of photographs and memories with loved ones.
Execution:
Framed digital tablets are installed on each patient’s wall. The patient is able to display their own photos on each frame using their own device through Northwell’s mobile interface.- The system is wirelessly connected to AWS (Amazon Web Services) for all data and programming and can pull data from multiple social media sources.- The modular interface is compatible across all the latest web browsers.- The system can accommodate any number of rooms, frames and users.- These frames can work individually or in a group setting completely configurable via web admin tool.
Campaign Description:
Create a hospital room that helps patients feel at home, and in turn, recover faster.- The Connected Room is a system of smart, interactive picture frames, hung in each hospital room, that lets patients display photos of friends and family, creating a better in-room experience.- Via our custom interface, patients can choose photos from their social media accounts, and upload them directly to the frames. - Photos can also be sent to any patient room directly in real-time using a custom email address.
Outcome:
- Due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) we can not provide result information pertaining to patients
Synopsis:
It is Northwell Health’s goal to make patients feel more comfortable in hospital rooms, so that they would hopefully heal faster and return home more quickly. - Northwell health is one of the largest and most technologically advanced health systems in the world, with 61,000 employees, 550 clinician centers and 21 hospitals.- In their continued pursuit to raise the standard of healthcare, they look for new breakthroughs every day.
Relevancy:
For Northwell Health, medical breakthroughs aren’t only new ways to cure, they are new ways to CARE as well. We promoted healing through feeling at home and allowed patients to take an active role in their own recovering. - By letting patients customize the decor of their recovery rooms in an innovative way, we are showing the personal care that Northwell believes in.
