Brief Explanation:

Quint magazine is a collaboration between creative people from around the world. Our objective is to provide undiscovered talent with a platform from which to communicate with like-minded creative people both locally and internationally. Every new publication faces challenges with regards to securing readership as well as producing engaging and interesting work. These challenges have been met thanks to our wonderful contributors, as well as the thousands of readers we have gained in less than a year. Therefore our main challenge is to do justice to the incredible talent we feature - a goal we approach with enthusiasm and excitement.

Describe the brief from the client:

The magazine is our way of using our various talents to create something interactive and innovative which promotes our creative abilities in a non-traditional way. Without a brief, we had the opportunity to be as creative as possible, thus using our self-expression to create a product that transcends the limitations of corporate assignments. Rather than relying solely on corporate projects, we have made a name for ourselves as a talented design studio by creating and promoting our own work. People are drawn in by, and more likely to work with, a studio that is proactive and passionate about their work.

Description of how you arrived at the final design:

The design of the magazine changes constantly. We do not follow any layout samples - every spread is an artwork in and of itself. The content influences the design and vice-versa. We play with typography, type setting, colour, shapes, illustrations and stunning images. The only thing that remains the same is the cover idea: one solid colour with the issue number on it, in a different typographical approach for each one.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market:

With readers from over 80 different countries, passionate contributors, and page views in the tens of thousands per issue, we are overjoyed with the feedback we have received. Talented people from around the world regularly contact us with requests to be featured or to contribute, and we regularly find bloggers promoting quint magazine to their followers. No other publication is quite like our magazine, and we are sure that it will continue in popularity and success, not only in the local art scene but also in the international creative community.
