Outcome
The poster has much possibility. We had some reactions and were reported by a TV station which had heard of this project. This poster is used as a stating flag to hold events abroad with craftsmen who keep Kyoto and Japanese traditional handcrafts. By this poster, we are representing the fascination with craftsmen to Japan and to the world. It is penetrating, surely.

Implementation
The poster's motive is to "create". A red circle which goes to a profile represents the Japanese national flag's "rising sun", and the 8 geometric patterns in the head (eternity) represent the creative (imaging) process. The silhouette is both masculine and feminine so it stays neutral. We worried about the size, as Ukiyoe, usually the maximum size of wood-block printing, is B4. However, we made this size to include the image of "starting-flag".

Client Brief Or Objective
The traditional handcrafts are now declining because of cheap mass-produced goods. My aim is to develop the expression of the traditional technique to be understandable for present-day people. We want to keep the technique and represent the fascination of the wood-block printing which has been shown to the world time and again. The client needed a poster to reflect the traditional printing values it represented.

Brief Explanation
The goal is to revive the traditional culture in Kyoto, which is declining, and the rehabilitation of of Japonism-Re japon. The grand mission is entrusted to this one poster.
