Describe the brief from the client

'The Spirit of the Season. The Size of the City.' Each year, Tourism Toronto faces the same problem: as the holiday season rolls around, nearly half the city's hotel rooms remain empty.

Describe how you arrived at the final design

To overcome this fact, we created 'Torontoland' - a citywide holiday theme park showcasing all the great events, dining and shopping the city has to offer at this time of year. Every theme park has attractions. Torontoland is no exception. With over a hundred different attractions, we knew it would be hard to find everything. That's exactly why we took the time to design this classic-style map that tells you exactly where you are in Torontoland. The illustrative style was inspired by classic theme park maps, complete with exaggerated landmarks and a detailed listing of all of the great attractions. The maps were distributed at all participating hotels, restaurants and attractions in the Greater Toronto area.
