Describe the brief from the client
At Zulu Alpha Kilo, you’re literally asked to park your ego at the door of the agency. The agency’s collaborative model requires an open attitude and a willingness to share ideas. The agency wanted to design a sign that would introduce potential employees, clients and visitors to the agency’s philosophy.
Describe the challenges and key objectives
The sign needed to grab attention as soon a visitor was about to enter Zulu, yet still feel like an organic part of the agency’s space. The objective of the design was to clearly spell out the philosophy of the agency as being an “ego-less” environment and create some intrigue.
Describe how you arrived at the final design
The analogy of big egos equalling big heads was the inspiration behind the design. This was depicted literally in a humourous fashion. In keeping with the agency’s minimalist brand identity, the sign needed to be simple.
Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The “No Egos” sign is constantly commented on by new visitors to the agency. It clearly communicates the agency’s philosophy and has become a big hit with both clients and staff.
