‘Fleetlights’ is the first initiative in this series. A new beta service created by us and world-leading engineers to light the darkest areas of the UK. The ‘Fleetlights’ service is made up of a swarm of interconnected UAVs equipped with high-powered on-board lights that can be summoned on demand from your smartphone. The service is intended to operate in areas where the implementation of street lighting is difficult to achieve, contributing to a 42% increase in road related deaths and injuries during darker months. Pedestrians are between three-seven times more likely to be killed by drivers in the dark.
