Kanazawa ADC Award: Awards held by the Art Directors Club in the Japanese City of Kanazawa.
This exhibition was held at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and Nonoichi Kaleid in Ishikawa Prefecture.
As an art direction for the exhibition, I wanted to quickly tell you who the winners were.
These are Poster and Flyer, Direct Mail for the Award-Winning Exhibition. It is designed with a sequence of Japanese Characters. The Characters are Names of Winners.
Flyer Surface: Name of the Winners / Back side: Photo of the Award-Winning Work, Printed Name, e-mail.
Japan 400 years ago. That era is called the Edo period.
At that time, the calligraphy of Edo script was born.
In Japan, the thickest characters are considered to have good luck.
Signboards and Posters with names of performers or competitors were made at Kabuki(theater), Sumo(wrestling venue) and entertainment venues. The list of master craftsmen in the arts and crafts was also produced in bold calligraphy. This design can be described as a list of Kanazawa's master craftsmen expressed in a modern interpretation.
