English Translation of Main Headlines:
After adding the dot, the word “Lost” becomes “Regained”
“Powerless” become “Empowered”,
“In need” becomes “Fulfilled”,
“Run away” becomes “Commit”,
“Sick” becomes “Cured”
And “Suffering” becomes “Healing”, driving home our campaign message “Every drop counts”.
Law Andak Dam, is an Egyptian online community that matches blood donors and patients in need. They wanted to get more people to register as donors.
Our aim was to show the value of every drop of blood. The word “Nokta” means drop and dot in Arabic, depending on context. In arabic adding a dot to a word can change its entire meaning.
We created Kol Nokta Btefrek (every dot and every drop counts). A poster series of Arabic Kufic typography, using words that reflect the pained state of needing blood, but shows how a single dot or drop changes the meaning to reflect positivity and hope.
