Synopsis:
Multiple Sclerosis means many scars. The immune system is supposed to fight off infections. But when you have MS, it scars the structures and cells within the central nervous system, causing symptoms like debilitating fatigue, coordination problems, double vision, memory loss, continence issues, slurred speech and extreme pain.
It’s a life-long and life-changing disease – and the average age for a diagnosis is just 30. There is currently no cure – though with the right treatment, care and support we can help those living with MS step into a brighter future.
Over 25,600 people in Australia have MS, including 3,700 Queenslanders, and it affects each person differently. On average more than 10 Australians are diagnosed with MS every week.
For the past 60 years, MS Queensland has provided care and support to Queenslanders living with MS, and more recently, other chronic, progressive neurological diseases. As the only Queensland provider with specialised services dedicated to supporting people living with MS, your wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

An MS diagnosis - at an average age of just 30 - means a lifelong battle with a disease that attacks the central nervous system in any number of ways. While most people have heard of multiple sclerosis, few understand what it is or how it impacts people's lives. In partnership with MS Queensland, creative agency, Engine, has concepted a state-wide multimedia awareness campaign to encourage more people to engage with MS Queensland in activities and fundraising - helping those living with the disease to step into a brighter future.
