The whole earth catalog is a boy band inspired by the 1960’s counter culture magazine by the same name. We created this art book to promote the band to key figures in the entertainment industry: producers, broadcasters and magazine editors who get inundated with promotional material, most of which gets ignored. All of the band’s members are american, which is very unusual in japanese show business. The idea is: ’americans learn about and introduce themselves to japan in a way that both charms and resonates with the japanese public’. We created the book based on this story, illustrating it with humor and cool graphics.
