Script In English:
RADIO NARRATOR: Goal for Saprissa, but we don't celebrate it, because as long as inequality still exists, INS reminds us, that on Women's Day, there's nothing to celebrate yet, not even goals.
Synopsis:
An actual Costa Rican football tournament goal narration on radio. The narrator announces the goal in a brief and serene way, instead of the usual extremely long and intense celebration. On Women's Day, none of the 11 goals scored in the national tournament were celebrated in its narration. They were just seriously announced, reminding the true goal of International Women's Day. None of the media (TV and radio) which broadcasted the matches celebrated a single goal.
Entry Summary:
Football goals in Costa Rica are narrated through a very long and intense celebration. The intensity of the narration on radio is such that many people who watch the matches on TV, mute it and listen to them on the radio. In fact, a Costa Rican goal radio narration was declared the best one of the 2014 World Cup.
