Synopsis:
We found a common pathway between the Church and the Mosque where we placed our One Book audio poster. People passing by stopped to listen to the passages from the Bible and the Quran, which were being played on the One radio channel. This engaged them in positive discussions about the similarities and encouraged them to visit the website to listen to the full book and download the audiobooks. By reaching out to people through an audio poster, we invited more people to join the conversation about how there’s so much more that unites us than sets us apart.
Entry Summary:
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is a post-war, multinational, multi-religion country with an eventful history pertaining to communal unrest. The capital city of Sarajevo is a unique metropolis where 4 religions coexist. Within a radius of only 1km, there are places of worship for 4 different religions- Church, Mosque, Orthodox Church and Synagogue. Nowadays, Bosnia, along with other countries from the Europe are witnessing humanitarian migration crises. Religious differences are still at the root of many conflicts around the world. Due to a lack of understanding of other religions, people create opinions leading to communal hatred and violence. The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to tackle prejudice and raise awareness of the importance of inter-religious dialogue.
