MVO: This is an urgent appeal. In Ireland in the year 2007 there are still those among us who don’t eat enough food. They are underweight, undernourished and underloved. They … are fashion models.

MVO:Models all over the world haven’t eaten anything that you or I would describe as food in years. And no, a delicious, nutritious shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner doesn’t count. These models need to stay thin in case they get a call to appear in a press ad, or tv commercial. Through a strict diet of cigarettes, champagne and diuretics they are always ready to shed the 20 pounds the camera on a press or tv commercial will add. But you can help. If you work in advertising or marketing you can make a difference by choosing radio advertising - the most powerful, targeted and effective advertising media there is. That way, these models can get jobs as voiceovers on radio commercials and eat their own body weight in sweets and chocolate that can be found in the reception area of any good sound studio. Please, give these models the happy elasticated waistband life they have always dreamt of - Choose radio advertising.
