Christmas was approaching rapidly and we had to convince shoppers who would usually frequent malls to try doing their purchases online. Bidorbuy.co.za is Africa's largest online marketplace, and by flooding a shopping mall with herds of wild animals, we made it very uncomfortable for our 'human' shoppers in the ad. A multitude of zebras, ostriches, elephants, exotic birds, wildebeest, giraffe, warthogs, hyenas, pelicans, a disgruntled hippo, a lackadaisical gorilla and even a tiger were all instrumental in portraying everyday shoppers as the animals they become in a crowded shopping-environment. The experience culminates with the line, "It's a jungle out there. Rather shop online."
