Blood in sport is perfectly normal. But when it comes to menstrual blood the conversation changes. Actually, the conversation doesn’t even exist. In Sweden alone, a quarter of women regularly miss out on exercise when they have their period. But no one is talking about it. This film is designed to start that conversation and break sport’s ‘last taboo’ – periods. In this film we show real women practicing sports. Pushing themselves even after blood has been drawn. They don’t give up. A little blood doesn’t stop them. So why should their period? No blood should hold us back. Live Fearless.
This powerful commercial for Bodyform aims to break down the taboos around the menstrual cycle and exercise. It portrays women taking part in sport with gashed faces, scraped hands and raw and bloody toes. Women bleed but this doesn't stop them competing.
