Synopsis:
The film begins with a woman wearing a dressing gown with the logos of Facebook and Instagram on it. We hear a female narrator saying:“Social networks keeps banning nipples, even for breast cancer awareness. It’s time to speak louder than censorship”The woman strips down showing her breasts. But her nipples have been replaced by mouths that start to sing “Everybody Loves Boobs” –a tribute to breasts, with lyrics lauding how breasts come in different shapes and sizes and everybody loves all kinds.Suddenly the tone changes saying: "Not everybody, cancer hates us" while showing a woman with only one breast who’s had a mastectomy “One in eight and that’s a fact, so help us please reduce that stat” The song goes on to warn the viewer anyone can contract breast cancer (even your own father) underlining the importance of getting checked.
Entry Summary:
Argentina has the second-highest breast cancer mortality rate in all Latin America. Nevertheless, social media keeps banning female nipples, even when it comes to breast cancer awareness campaigns. We need to promote early detection, which is key to reducing breast cancer altogether. That’s why MACMA (Breast Cancer Help Movement) gave boobs a louder voice by launching “Everybody Loves Boobs”.
