Movistar, Y&R Peru and nominee Director of the Academy Award Claudia Llosa, brings back "Contigo Peru". A folk song from the 70s, but now as a crowd chant to encourage its national soccer team to qualify after 9 World Cups.
The creative team found historic data known to very few Peruvians, and that was the first kick to the idea: The well-known folk song "Contigo Peru (With you Peru)" was a special request made during the 1978 World Cup Argentina qualifiers to help the Peruvian Soccer team to face rivals such as Brazil. That year not only Peru qualified but stayed in the top 8 of the world.
Today, 38 years and nine world cups later, the song that inspired 11 people comes back to inspire 30 million Peruvians.
