Synopsis:
Letting you know that a new film for NBA 2K19 has launched featuring none other than LeBron James and rapper, Travis Scott. The spot marks the confluence of three icons at the top of their game: 2K as the top-selling sports video game, LeBron is one of the best athletes in the world, and Travis is one of the biggest rappers of 2018.
The film is the next installment of NBA2K’s “They Will Know Your Name” campaign which highlights the journey that NBA legends undertake, and narrative they build when reaching the point where their name is known by the world. The spot tells NBA 2K gamers that it is time for the world to know theirs, too. LeBron talks about his reign as “King,” and how it will eventually come to an end as others come for his crown – an analogy for gamers everywhere who can challenge a king like LeBron.
This installment of the campaign, which was created by BSSP, will comprise of TV, OOH, digital and social components. This work comes on the heels of additional campaign elements that have been rolling out over the past couple of months, unveiling King James as the NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition cover star and utilizing well-known artists 2 Chainz, Rapsody, and Jerreau performing captivating spoken word interwoven with footage of James’s journey and the game.
