Entry Summary:
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is a post-war, multinational, multi-religion country with an eventful history pertaining to communal unrest. The capital city of Sarajevo is a unique metropolis where 4 religions coexist. Within a radius of only 1km, there are places of worship for 4 different religions- Church, Mosque, Orthodox Church and Synagogue. Nowadays, Bosnia, along with other countries from Europe are witnessing humanitarian migration crises. This shows that religious differences are still the root of many conflicts around the world. Due to lack of understanding of other religions, people create opinions leading to communal hatred and violence. The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to tackle prejudice and raise awareness of the importance of inter-religious dialogue.

Y&R’s New Moments in Belgrade has launched “One Book for Peace,” a project that draws parallels between Islam and Christianity to demonstrate how we are more alike than we think. More information about the project can be found at http://onebookforpeace.org/#/
A BOOK TO HELP CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK ABOUT RELIGION — AND EACH OTHER – “ONE BOOK FOR PEACE”
New Book Shows Similarities in Islam and Christianity to Demonstrate How We Are More Alike Than We Think
Despite what might be the opinion of many, there are more things in the world that connect us than separate us — even when it comes to religion. To help the efforts of the Inter-Religious Council of Bosnia and Herzogovina, Y&R’s New Moments in Belgrade created “One Book for Peace,” to show the parallels between the two religions in the hope that it will help bring peace and harmony to the world.
“One Book for Peace“ gathers teachings from the holy books of the Bible and the Quran, comparatively showing how they each express like messages. By showing the similarities between the two, the book brings to life inter-religious dialogue and encourages discussion.
“One Book” represents 10 verses from the Bible and the Quran on 10 topics: God, Peace, Justice, Love, Family and Neighbors, Sanctity of Life, Compassion, Forgiveness, Helping Others and Hope.
The book was currated by journalist Mirnes Kovač, with local theologians Muhamed Fazlović (Islam) and Pavle Mijović (Christianity). “One Book for Peace” is available in print and audio versions, both in English.
