English Description

Our Immune System

The film explains the functioning of the immune system. It explains the process of inflammation. It also explains what goes wrong in the functioning of the body, when a person suffers from an auto-immune disease.

Cytokines, which are certain regulatory substances, play an important part in the functioning of the immune system.

A relatively new type of medication so-called biologicals, interact specifically with some of these cytokines and they, for example, are able to affect rheumatoid arthritis.

The film will be used at various exhibitions, focused especially on medical specialists (for example rheumatologists).

The film is placed on the website of Pfizer bv. Patients are able to watch films on this website (which are currently being developed by us) that explain various auto-immune diseases and their concerning biologicals.

Because of the high scientific level of the film, the film is intended especially as support for patients who want to have extra information on the role of cytokines, after they have watched the relatively more simple films about the auto-immune diseases and their concerning biologicals.
