Description: In 1953, Patti Page released a song about the pet store: “How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?” The song became world-famous. But over 50 years later, Patti Page regretted singing it. Because she came to know that most pet stores get their puppies from puppy mills, where dogs are cruelly abused. So Patti Page changed the words of her song. Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after, and the song with new lyrics, "Do You See That Doggie In the Shelter?", was never officially released. At SPCA Singapore, we want a society where adoption is the norm ? and buying from pet stores, the exception. And we believe that teaching children Patti Page’s new song will help us fulfill our vision.
