Synopsis:
The story takes place in a small town in California at the end of the summer. Joy, 16, just moved there with her single mother, Linda. Joy is very different from the other teenagers her age. She’s independent and mysterious, definitely a loner. From the first day, Joy feels an immediate attraction to Marc, whom she meets at the only skate park in town. Since she was a little girl, Joy has been passionate about skateboarding, which she does barefoot. Chris, a former skateboard champion soon notices Joy’s talent and insists on her participating in a local skateboard contest. At first reluctant, Joy will be forced to join the competition since the first prize could be the only way out of some serious trouble she got into with Marc.
