Finding the right job has nothing to do with luck. It’s about doing everything in your power to maximise your chances of getting the outcome you want. We didn’t want to hold a mirror up to our audience as the “it’s not luck...” message could appear very patronising and preachy. So we used household objects instead, after all, they all have jobs themselves, a toaster toasts, an alarm clock rings, a vacuum... So we used them to reflect an aspiration that we can all relate to, the desire to improve one’s professional situation and get the type of job we can love. And we did it all with a little charm.
