English Description

The assignment was a UBS billboard at JFK Airport . But rather than simply do an ad within the new global campaign for UBS - "We Will Not Rest" - we found someone who embodies the very spirit of the campaign. Meet Stephen Wiltshire, an autistic artist who draws fantastically detailed cityscapes from memory, with an unwavering dedication to his craft . We contacted him about doing a drawing of NYC to use as a billboard. Then we flew him from London to NYC, he took a helicopter ride around Manhattan, and then spent four days in a studio. We filmed the whole experience. The film appeared on the UBS website and on YouTube. On July 11th, the spectacular went live at JFK, taking up three massive panels in the international arrivals hall. And to complete its journey, the drawing was eventually auctioned off to benefit a 9/11 charity.
