Synopsis:
The spot, “Yelling,” showcases the relatable family dynamics of a home dealing with telecom issues. The spot features Danny, played by Ruiz, as the youngest member of his family, and Gaten Matarazzo as his friend, both playing videogames. Meanwhile, Danny’s parents shout from room to room in Spanish, urging one another to get offline so they can do their own activities online. While Danny’s father tries to stream the big game, his mother wants to video chat with her aunt. Danny tries to educate his parents about the benefits of having Fios, which Gaten recommends since it’s a 100% fiber-optic network and would allow Danny’s family members to each use their devices how they wish, simultaneously.
Throughout the spot, we see Danny switching between English and Spanish as he talks to Gaten and shouts downstairs to his family that they need the Fios network. The spot captures the duality of today’s bicultural Hispanic family, as well as their interests as they connect with their loved ones and use digital services, such as live streaming and video.
