Young Director Award 2017

In 1984, after working for 10 years as Director of Productions at TBWA, François Chilot founded LES PRODUCERS. By adopting this name, the company was conveying the idea that humour is the best elixir ever and also underlining its multicultural identity.

In 2000, LES PRODUCERS entered the list of the 10 best Production Companies in the world at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

For the past 15 years, François Chilot has been President of the CFP-E (Commercial Film Producers of Europe), which brings together the associations of advertising film producers from 17 European countries and represents over 600 production companies throughout Western Europe.

CFP-E is the instigator of the Young Director Award, THE not-to-miss fringe event of the Cannes Lions International Festival. YDA is the only award aimed at promoting young directing talents. It was created to give a better chance to these new directors, to maximise their media coverage and to remind the different actors from our profession that one of the essential roles of producers is to  iscover, nurture and promote directors.

CFP-E together with APA (UK) and AICP (USA) is also the instigator of the World Producers Summit (WPS), which gathers 100 producers from around the world during the Cannes Festival week. WPS also takes place during Ciclope festival in Buenos Aires and for the first time in Asia, last March, at the AdFest 2012. Over the last few years, François Chilot has been invited as member of the jury and/or speaker in a number of advertising festivals and awards throughout the world.
